my beloved life

Wednesday, November 23, 2005

I was flipping through my high school year-end 2004 book when i spotted this poem written by a student.. I find it quite interesting and i would like to dedicate this to all my friends..

Parting

There's today a gloomy air,
There's emptiness in our chairs,
We've gone already far somewhere,
We'll leave behind many a care.

Yes, our parting's not so sweet,
For we don't know when we'll meet
Perhaps when we're resting our sweat-stained feet,
In a faraway place, along a foreign street.

But one thing we know for certain,
That so long flows life's fountain,
A time before death's parting curtain,
We'll meet ere we've each other forgotten.

Our weary roads diverge into yellow wood,
And into its unknown we'll go, parted for good.
We'd stay this time this life, if we could,
But for Fate's hand and tempestuous mood.

Here's a thought, to keep you company;
Here's a cheer, tellling you, live joyfully;
Though we're soon and now apart,
Friendship's flame brightly burns always at heart.
