my beloved life

So so.. been so long since i blogged.. cant really blame me, been really busy during Orientation.. oh crap, i didn't even attend half of it!.. ah nvm, it didn't really matter anyway, besides im not the only one who skipped it.. Honestly, the Orientation was kinda pointless, speeches after speeches came, most of them were useless, not to forget L.A.M.E. MUSA for coming up with such 'grown-up' game like passing the rubber band with the straw in the mouth!! Gosh, we planned that for House Of Joy kids during our moral projects.. KIDS!! Of coz, i have to admit that Wendy was right that we were abit anti-social for not attending the School of Business activities where it was suppose to be like Building Bridges in MUFY, but to me, it was kinda pointless.. Even if we are suppose to be able to make new friends that are in your group, i don't really think that's possible if we don't click... i remember during the Building Bridges session in MUFY Orientation, i was assigned to a group where i didn't know anyone.. AND after that, i did not even remember WHO was in my group!!.. Ok, so YK was in my group, but i only got to know him because we were in the same econs class.. NOT because of Building Bridges!!..

Alright, enough of that.. Today was my first day of University life.. i gotta admit i was kinda excited to enter Uni, even though i don't know why.. Started with Business and Econs Stats tutorial in the computer lab.. went in, realise that the tutor is of the same surname as me!.. first day of tutorial, my god, guess wat he taught!?.. Excel from the basics.. *smack on the forehead*.. for 2 hours we were juz meddling around with Excel, almost fell asleep man!!.. Next class was the Intro Microeconomics lecture, oh my god!!.. super packed man!.. anyway, the fella juz explained the course outline for 20 minutes and he is off teaching edi.. thankfully i did Economics during MUFY, or else i won't understand what he's saying since he seems to just glance through the outline of the chapters.. imagine learning 2 full chapters on the first day!.. somehow i feel that his teaching is not sufficient and that i have to get the textbook and read it in order to understand..

Oh yea, almost forgot, had a scare when i was leaving Uni.. i parked in the Sunway Hostel parking in the morning.. simply because the boom gate was open and i saw a few cars driving in without scanning cards, so i thought the college was so generous today and allowed us to park there instead of Elephant Walk.. well, of coz i found out later they were NOT so kind!.. the guards were talking about making a report and a fine imposed and all, but in the end they allowed me to leave.. thankfully Bryan and Melissa was with me.. was suppose to send them to Elephant Walk(haha!).. Great friends whom waited in the car with me till the matter was resolved(or coz still wana sit my car to Elephant Walk coz it was too hot to walk there!?).. anyway juz wana thank them for today ;)

oh my, juz realise it was almost 2 weeks since i last updated.. forgive me ppl!.. excessive holiday can lead to brain degration, which ultimately leads to memory lost(din i always have short term memory??).. seriously, this holiday, i had done nothing but hanging out in shopping malls, playing tennis and watching tv.. these activities certainly made my brains slower.. Well, even if i were doing the same things, i still feel this 3 months holiday is the best, even better than the one after SPM.. i think its because now i can drive, which allows me to go anywhere i want, making it extra exciting!.. Anyway, Uni is starting in 4 days time, heck im definitely not ready for it in any form!.. however, i kinda look forward to it too, coz i want to work my brains again, re-ignite the engine(duno will take how long, haha!)..

Uni starting, which means people are also leaving to other parts of the world to pursue their uni studies.. Notably James(=P) Pua and G-mun.. they will be leaving in 6 and a half hours time from now.. even if it sounds Gay-ish, im still gonna say this, im gonna miss u guys man!!.. Especially G-mun, i appreciate all that you have done, helping me durin my not so good times, encouraging me to study and helping me in everyway possible, take care mate!! As for James, well, i din really know him until the second half of the year, its a good thing that ur leaving dude, coz then you dont need to listen to my crap yea?..

Another person that is leaving is my very own good pal Mr.Leow.. My tennis partner and great friend, i would have gone with him if i had gotten Melbourne Uni, of coz i din get it and he opted for UWA in Perth, he is the odd fella that rejected Melbourne Uni for UWA in Perth?.. we here can never understand why, haha!.. Anyway, all the best bro, ill be waiting to play the OBD Tennis Masters Cup 2006 June Edition.. it is a little early to play the OBD Team Cup 2006 don't u think?.. haha..

So Chinese New Year came and gone, but this will go down as the only time where i actually won money during Chinese New Year.. I usually avoid gambling during Chinese New Year because of my bad gambling luck(runs throughout the year!).. this year was slightly different, i gambled during James Pua's farewell party.. but this is the interesting part, because the table was full and there were no chairs, i opted to juz put the 1 ringgit note there and let Darren take the card for me while i watch football.. surprise surprise, i only bet for 3 rounds, but i won 5 bucks!.. twice i got 21 and once 20.. and the sad part is poor old Darren actually lost money! story of the year man!!.. haha, Ken and Darren muz be flipping by now!..

On to yesterday, went with Bryan to pay our MPPJ and police summon.. there is something i have say about the police summon, he juz realised he had to pay the summon last week when he told me about it, he thought its juz some nice courteous NOTICE that he had made a traffic offence for illegal parking(haha!).. anyway, i asked to see his parking summon, turns out he got the traffic summon on the same time, same day, same place, and by the same policemen!! So, where i am?. oh ya, yesterday.. well, went to MPPJ at Jalan Sultan to pay off our MPPJ summon.. Mine was RM100 while he had 2 tickets worth RM60 in total.. Surprise again!.. they actually gave me a discount of RM70 to paying juz RM30!.. poor Bryan only had a cut of RM20, so he had to pay RM40!.. traffic summon was RM70, and we were both thinking that our licence will be revoked because we did not pay for so long!(imagine since 11 November 2005).. turns out, they din even bother to take down our licence number!.. stupid cops!.. well, at least we can have peace in mind that we know we are now 'clean' from any traffic offence going into Uni..

o2jam!!.. boy it was fun!.. had a go at it in Bryan's house yesterday.. well, i guess i can only play in his house, since mine is a dial-up, it will take DAYS to actually juz finish downloading the Setup file!.. not to mention i have to download the clips as well.. guess i wont be an expert o2jammer anytime soon!!.. haha!..

(lifts up blistered hands) Yes, you read it right, after three posts asking ah pok, we finally played the OBD Tennis Masters Cup Final 2005/2006.. it is 2005/2006 because this is suppose to settle the score for 2005, but because of our laziness, we played the final in 2006, hence its 2005/2006.. Ah Pok even mentioned that we will do an OBD TEnnis Masters Cup 2006 June edition when he comes back in June, but it is still highly speculative.. back to the topic, for those who don't know what is this about, this is a prestigious competition piting only two of the finest talent in tennis(coz there are only two players! =P), there can be no second place, because second means last!!

Warm up started at 4pm, with the sun shining brightly, the two competitors walked into the court, knowing that this day is the most important tennis match yet, and it is going to be a brutal one, battling not only with the opponent, but with the heat as well(coz we are not fit! haha..).. after 20 minutes of warm up, it was me who started serving.. even though i knew that i always lose my serve if i served first, i decided to give it a try.. thankfully, i served quite well, even getting a few aces, as i blazed through the first set, hitting a couple of winners as ah pok struggled to hang on.. First set was over quickly, only took 30 minutes as i wrapped it up 6-2..

Second set starts with the sun now at full blast, for the info, imagine the sun at 2pm.. Yes, it was THAT hot!!.. so off to the second set, with me feeling confident after winning the first set comfortably.. but things turned for the worst for me, a sudden pain in the ankle on the first game when i was serving hampered me throughout the match.. i could not move much, nor can i serve well as i was trying to avoid putting pressure on my right ankle.. besides, my hand was now covered with blisters which hurt so badly every time i hit the ball.. Sensing my discomfort, ah pok quickly capitalise on my weakness and started hitting heavier balls to me, with the occasional drop shots.. However, because of his enthusiasm, he too made a handful of errors, causing him precious points as i try to hang on dearly.. breaks of serve came almost in every game, except when we were at 5-5, i wasted a few break points, allowing ah pok to hold serve, so it is up to me to hold.. boy was it difficult, but somehow i managed to fight my way through and hold serve, sending this second set to a tie break..

Knowing that i don't have much water left, i had to win this set.. however, it was a tie breaker!, for those who read my post some time ago, i had problems when it comes to tie breakers.. in fact, i had never won any tie breakers on my whole life!!.. so, i prayed, and juz hope that i can win this tie break in this important match.. haha, here comes the funny part, i had a slice of luck.. when ah pok was standing at that side of the court, the sun was shining brightly on his side, but when we change sides at 5-1 to me, the sun shine had actually subdued!! sensing this, i suddenly felt like this is my chance.. and IT WAS!.. after 3 years of waiting, i FINALLY WON a tie breaker, taking the set and match 6-2, 7-6(7-3) in 2 hours time!.. i was so happy, as i was able to battle and won over both my demons, serving first and tie breakers.. you might find that its normal, but imagine having this hamperring your game for 3 years.. its nuts man!.. of course, i must give credit to Ah Pok, for giving me such a good fight in the second set, and gave me countless of blisters on my hand and feet, plus an ankle injury, i almost freaked out man, because you were so close to me and i wasn't able to hold serve, Kudos to you man!!..

Anyway, on to other topics, the first week of Chinese New Year was boring, most of the time we just stayed at home do nothing, hopefully the second week get to spend some time with my friends, but at least i have one target to look forward to, getting my Sony Ericsson K300i!!.. Yes yes, i know that model is quite old already, but it is the cheapest model i can find with the features they have.. imagine a phone with a decent camera, java, wap 2.0, Mp3/MPEG4 player.. all this for the price of 500, pretty good.. still scouting for a cheaper price hopefully can find one under 500!. ;)

haha, according to Wendy, i should be a tennis journalist, it is a brilliant idea!.. anyone knows any agencies that handle this kind of things, want to try my hands on them, since im still having holidays, might as well do something useful.. plus, if im good, i can even make a career out of it!.. so ppl, watch out for the name CHOONG ZHEN HAN printed on the articles and news!! ;) God bless! haha...
