1:09am.. yes, its already a monday morning, yet Im still typing this post.. haha! too bored i guess.. In exactly 10 hours time, Ill have my Business and Econs stats practice test.. Of course, as the man I was, I did not study for it, focusing on watching the Commonwealth Games final day action.. Much can be said about this edition of the Commonwealth Games which was held at Melbourne.. Malaysia surprised the rest of the contingents with a gold on the first day with weight-lifting.. Overall, Malaysia, in my opinion, did fairly well.. Golds in badminton were expected, with 4 golds coming from the all-Malaysian finals in the Men's Singles and Doubles.. we also grabbed Gold in the women's Doubles and Mixed team event.. 2 golds came from Lawn bowl.. However, the star for Malaysia, no doubt is Bryan Nickson, who competed in the men's 10m platform and men's synchronised 10m platform.. Competing against opponents almost twice his age, he showed a display that amazed everyone.. while he might have lost out by being 6th in the men's 10m platform, it must be reminded that his competitors are way more experienced and all of them had dived amazingly for the event.. imagine their scores are actually almost perfect in some dives.. in the men's synchronised 10m platform, he and his partner(cant remember his name!!), though did not threaten the Gold medal winners, they were not threaten as well by anyone for their silver medal spot.. they too had dived some of the most amazing dives the history have ever seen.. on the last dive, they were that good, they scored the highest score in the whole event!.. Yes, they were
that good!
Honestly, Im not sure why, but I was hoping for the 'Negaraku' to be played on the podium whenever there was a Malaysian competing in any event.. Yes, I admit, I am very patriotic when it comes to Malaysia in sports.. Somehow whenever I see any Malaysians playing in any event, I will automatically root for them.. Even if they had no chance of winning, its just that feeling that is so great in supporting your own country's representative.. Even when I went to watch the friendly between Manchester United vs Malaysia a few years back, even though almost the whole stadium were rooting for Manchester United, my friends and I strapped on a yellow head band and wearing the yellow shirt and waved the Malaysia flag.. Yes, we cheered strongly for Malaysia.. So much in fact, that some of the Manchester United fans who sat behind us actually started cheering for Malaysia with us!! haha, I will always remember that incident!.. Anyway, this was how Malaysia fared in the whole Melbourne Commonwealth Games 2006 :

Not too bad.. 8th in the whole Games.. 7 gold, could have had more if the squash team did not disappoint and the near miss in weight-lifting where Malaysia lost out on gold by just 1kg.. well, it was still a great performance, so
MALAYSIA BOLEH!!
Anyway, watched the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games just now.. I personally felt that the performances was kinda odd.. But there was this one song I absolutely love and I've just downloaded and playing in my comp now..
Casey Donovan - Better To Love.. the Live version was better i feel, but this is fine anyway.. While I was searching on the net, I found out that she is the Australian Idol!.. How come people here in Malaysia knows of the latest American Idol, where the country is thousands of miles away, while the only Australian Idol we know is Guy Sebastian, where the country is juz separated by Indonesia?.. weird don't u think?? Wonder if those people in Australia know that Malaysian Idol even exist!??
